Guide Dogs Queensland
Guide Dogs Queensland’s mission is to equip, empower and educate blind and vision impaired Queenslanders with services and resources that enable them to maintain independence, mobilty and freedom. We are known for our icon - the Guide Dog, however, this service is just part of what we do. GDQ services include Guide Dog training and placement, community and professional education workshops, mobility programs for vision impaired and blind children, counselling by our on staff psychologist and a variety of residential and training programs including counselling retreats, holiday camps, Long Cane training and electronic travel aid training. All of these services are provided free of charge.
We are a“not-for-profit” organisation who relies almost entirely on community support and donations. Guide Dog Queensland gratefully accepts financial support from the wider community through donations, puppy sponsorship, bequests, telemarketing purchases and during fundraising events.
