![]() Apex Foundation for Research into Intellectual Disability This Foundation was established by Apex as part of a service scheme to aid the Mentally Retarded in the mid 1960's. The Foundation was established to provide financial support for research programs which are concerned with the causes, diagnosis, prevention or treatment of disability in any of its forms.The Foundation was established with $100,000 raised by Apex Clubs, since then it has received several bequests. All funds are placed into a portfolio of professionally managed and well diversified investments.The Foundation now manages over $2 million and provides $80,000 of grants for medical research each year. The Foundation also financially supports the actions of SOLVE at the Royal Childrens Hospital.Over the past 37 years the Foundation has provided funding for 151 research projects.
