Can Assist: Cancer Assistance Network
For more than 50 years, Can Assist has provided a helping hand to people in rural and regional NSW affected by cancer. Through a network of 39 branches and more than 1400 volunteers, Can Assist provides direct financial assistance for necessities such as cancer treatment, travel, accommodation, prosthetics, wigs, bills and other needs. Can Assist also owns and operates three accommodation facilities: Jean Colvin Private Hospital (Darling Point) and Ecclesbourne (Double Bay) in Sydney; Lilier Lodge in Wagga Wagga. These vital accommodation services provide a place for country people to stay whilst they undergo an average of 6 weeks cancer treatment.
Each year Can Assist provides more than $1.7 million in financial assistance, care and accommodation.
