Children's Hospital at Westmead, The
The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is one of the most well-respected paediatric centres in the world and the largest in Australia. We travel beyond our own walls and the borders of NSW to care for children internationally and Australia-wide, in their own homes and within the hospital itself. Every year our Emergency Department sees over 40,000 children, with over 26,000 admissions. On any given night there will be 100-200 parents sleeping in our Hospital. We care for patients from newborns to adolescents, with problems as simple as tonsillitis or as complex as cardiac disease needing open-heart surgery. For many patients our Hospital is the only place they can receive the unique treatment they require. Clinically proven extras help improve the wellness of our children. We provide a total healing environment where design, decoration, entertainment, facilities, gardens and art combine with the best possible medical care to help heal all our sick children.
