![]() Club SPERANZA "speranza" is the Italian word for HOPE and stands for Suicide Prevention Education Research Australia & New Zealand Action. A non government organisation widely known specialising in suicide prevention through advocacy creative mental health promotion and support programs. It has worked with hundreds of people at risk and their families. Founded in 1994 and is the "first Australian suicide consumer-alliance" and works in association with the mental health services. It has many testimonials from people crediting it with saving their lives. It has been responsible for many "firsts" in community awareness and education "The Tragedy of Suicide" series "Youth In Discovery" "Communities That Care", Manly Mental Health Day 2006 (again 18th March 2007), GASS (Go And Surf Social) for young people.
