![]() Dr Edward Koch Foundation The Dr Edward Koch Foundation, a non-profit organisation estab. in 1996, promotes organisations & activities that alleviate ill health in Nth Qld. Its Board consists of community & business leaders, academics & representatives from the Tropical Population Health Unit, Qld Health. Objectives are to improve health & well-being, conduct research & development projects, promote & initiate preventive & educational health programs, & link with similar groups. Its public health research activities include irukandji syndrome, mosquito-borne diseases, ciguatera, diabetes & a Visiting Fellow. It is also committed to a range of community health programs, including Koch for Kids Festival (a day for children with disabilities), CREW (a drug rehab program), StandBy (grief & loss program for survivors of suicide), a Masters in Public Health scholarship, the FNQ Suicide Prevention Taskforce, & workshops.
