Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Australia is a charity that is releasing Australians from debt and poverty through professional debt counselling, practical services and financial education. CAP will help anyone who is facing hardship as a result of financial difficulty and all of CAP's services are provided free of charge. Our unique 'hands on' approach empowers people to help themselves out of poverty and be released from the fear, oppression and worry generated by overwhelming debts. We are providing sustainable poverty relief as our service teaches clients vital budgeting skills that will last a lifetime. The charity operates through a growing network of centres, each opened in partnership with a local church. CAP is now a fast-paced, growing organisation whose vision is to answer the national problem of debt in Australia by having at least one CAP centre in every major town and city by the year 2021. Christians Against Poverty (Australia) Ltd is a registered charity in Australia. It is a public company limited by guarantee (ACN 104 471 516 & ABN 92 104 471 516). CAP is endorsed by the Australian Taxation office as a Public Benevolent Institution and as such has GST, FBT & Income Tax exemption. CAP is also endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient(DGR) and hence all donations to CAP of $2 or more are fully tax deductible. CAP is not associated with any particular church or church denomination, but all of its staff and volunteers are practicing Christians who attend local Christian churches. Our staff and volunteers are people who have been called to serve God by following His commands to show love to and help the poor and needy in our community.
